About SPI Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar)

GENESIS

The Services Preparatory Institute (SPI) was established in 1977 by the Government of Maharashtra.

The institute was created with the singular vision of preparing the youth of Maharashtra for the written examination conducted by the UPSC and the Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the Indian Naval Academy (INA).

For decades, SPI Aurangabad (now Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) has been a beacon of excellence, sending hundreds of officers to the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

AIM & VISION

AIM: To encourage the youth of Maharashtra to join the Armed Forces as officers, instill in them the values of discipline, integrity, and patriotism, and prepare them physically, mentally, and academically for a successful career in Defence services.

VISION: To be a premier institute in Maharashtra that inspires and equips young minds to excel as officers in the Armed Forces, fostering leadership, discipline, and a spirit of service to the nation.

ORGANISATION

The Institute works under the General Administration Department of Mantralaya and is headed by a Director who is a retired Armed Forces Officer of the rank Colonel or equivalent. The staff includes dedicated retired personnel from the Armed Forces to look after training, discipline, and welfare.
