About SPI Aurangabad
The Services Preparatory Institute — Maharashtra's premier government institute for NDA aspirants, shaping officers since 1977.
Genesis of SPI
The Services Preparatory Institute (SPI) was established in 1977 by the Government of Maharashtra with one singular purpose — to prepare the youth of Maharashtra for the written examination conducted by the UPSC and the Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the Indian Naval Academy (INA).
For decades, SPI Aurangabad has been a beacon of excellence, sending hundreds of officers to the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. It operates under the General Administration Department of Mantralaya and is headed by a Director who is a retired Armed Forces Officer of the rank Colonel or equivalent.
